E0859m is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease 30 (Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the E0859m kit is based on Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody antibody-Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, recombinant, Glutamate decarboxylase autoantibody. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Glutamate decarboxylase or glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) is an enzyme that catalyzes the decarboxylation of glutamate to GABA and CO2. GAD uses PLP as a cofactor. Intracerebellar administration of GAD autoantibodies to animals increase the excitability of motoneurons and impairs the production of nitric oxide (NO), a molecule involved in learning. Epitope recognition contributes to cerebellar involvement.
