Precision

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Intra-Assay CV: ≤5.6%

Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):Three samples of known concentration were tested in five separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.

Inter-Assay CV: ≤9.1%

Recovery
Recovery was determined by spiking various levels of Immunoglobulin A into serum and plasma.

Linearity
The linearity of the kit was assayed by testing samples spiked with appropriate concentration of Immunoglobulin A and their serial dilutions. The results were demonstrated by the percentage of calculated concentration to the expected.

General Annotation

Sub Unit:
N/A

Function:
Decreased or absent IgA, termed selective IgA deficiency, can be a clinically significant immunodeficiency.

Location:
Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is an antibody that plays a critical role in mucosal immunity. More IgA is produced in mucosal linings than all other types of antibody combined; between three and five grams are secreted into the intestinal lumen each day. This accumulates to 75% of the total immunoglobulin produced in the entire body.
